ACTIVITIES

The four activities of the Project were as follows:

Activity 1: Training in the eight legislative fields and production of Miniguides
Training seminars have been held and Miniguides have been produced in the following legislative fields:
• Competition policy
• Consumer protection
• Environmental protection
• Intellectual property rights
• Public procurement
• Standards for agricultural products
• Standards for industrial products
• State aid

Activity 2: Impact Assessment - methodology and "Training the Trainers"
This activity has built on previous work in Croatia in developing a methodology for assessing the impact of laws and regulations on business. Activities included preparing a Manual on Impact Assessment, training the trainers, study visits to EU countries and carrying out Impact Assessments for business sectors most affected by the legislative fields.

Activity 3: Business information needs survey (BINS)
A Business Information Needs Survey (BINS) has been carried out on the sample of 2.000 SMEs -  the Before BINS has been carried out at the beginning of the Project to identify the needs for information about legislative changes and their impact on different types of businesses and the After BINS has been carried out at the end of the Project to measure success in meeting those information needs.

Activity 4: Presentation of information to the business community
The Project was undertaking a range of activities to improve the flow of information to businesses and to improve public-private dialogue with the business community. Activities included organising a series of visibility events and information days throughout Croatia, producing publications to inform the business community and training of information officers.
